Bombay Chutney
Small onions - 12
Medium size Tomatoes - 2
Green chili - 1
Garlic pods - 8
Chili powder - 3/4 spoon
Turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
Mustard - 1 spoon
Jeera - 1 spoon
Oil - 3 spoons
Salt - As required
Gram flour (kadala maav) - 2 tablespoons
Curd - 2 tablespoons
Curry leaves
Procedure:
Add oil to the pan.
Once mustard sputters,add onions and garlic pods.
Once they fried,add tomatoes,chili powder,turmeric powder and salt.
Once the above mixture is cooked, add gram flour,curd and mix it for few minutes.
Add 31/2 cups of water to the mixture and allow it to boil.
Boil the mixture until oil oozes out.
Delicious and simple bombay chutney is ready.You can serve it with chapathi,dose,idles.
hey kalps, ur chutney looks like paste, but have not mentioned in which stage u have to grind the ingredients. :)
ReplyDeleteRuks, there is no need to grind the mixture. We are using gram flour to onion tomato mixture. Also the chutney will not be like a paste, this will be like semi liquid which will be nice with chappatti.
